Pronounced as “Pagan”, Bagan, located in Upper Myanmar, boasts of over two thousand Temples and Pagodas and visitors can come over any time of the year as there is real rainy season in the region, unlike in the Myanmar’s lower areas.

Temples and Pagodas in Bagan has a history that dates back over one thousand five hundred years and is one of the most fascinating places to see for visitors. It can be accessed by car tour, horse cart,

or by bicycle. A trip during sunset onboard a boat on the Ayeyarwaddy River is another way to get to Bagan. This offers visitors a unique opportunity to witness Bagan during sunset while nursing a cool drink.

Homegrown art can also be had at Bagan as it is a great place to buy bamboo works, lacquer ware, and hand-woven cloth. Just fifty kilometers from Bagan is the famous Mount Popa on which a monastery of almost five thousand feet high can be accessed by going up its 777 steps. The beauty of the ancient city of Bagan is a definite must-see when visiting Myanmar.
